How it works

All MG HYBRID+ models feature a 1.83kW battery, with the MG3 and ZS pairing a 100kW motor, 1.5L engine, and 3-speed hybrid transmission. The HS steps it up, powered by a 146kW motor with a 1.5L turbo and 2-speed hybrid transmission. All systems are managed by the Intelligent Control Unit for peak performance and efficiency.

While cruising at high speeds where acceleration is not required, the vehicle uses excess power from the engine to regenerate electricity to charge up the HYBRID+ battery.

Regen propulsion mode

Regen mode

While coasting, decelerating, or descending steep hills, the kinetic energy of the wheels can be converted back into power to recharge the battery, while also slowing the vehicle without using friction braking. Saving your brakes, and conserving energy and fuel.
